About the Department
Children and Youth Services investigates situations where there are concerns that children are being neglected or abused. Allegations of abuse can be referred directly to the agency at (570) 265-1760 or through the Child Abuse Hot-line at 1-800-932-0313. Abuse can be physical, sexual, or emotional. It also includes children who are at imminent risk of harm. Neglected children are children who are without proper parental care or control, subsistence, education as required by law, or other care or control necessary for their physical, mental or emotional or morals; children who have been abandoned by their parents; children who, while subject to compulsory school attendance, are habitually and without justification truant from school; children who have committed acts of habitual disobedience of the reasonable and lawful commands of their parents; are under the age of 18 and have committed a delinquent act.
It is the goal of Bradford County Children and Youth Services avoid family separations whenever possible.
Department ServicesChildren and Youth Services is responsible for administering programs in the following area; Foster Care, Independent Living, Family Group Decision Making, Parenting Classes, Sex Abuse Counseling and Referral Sources.

Jennifer Cragle is the Director of Bradford County Children and
Youth Services (CYS). Ms. Cragle, a graduate of Troy High School in 1994,
obtained her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Juniata College in 1998. After
graduation, she worked in mental health agencies providing services for
families and children. She began her career with Bradford County in May
of 2001 when she became caseworker for CYS. She was promoted to the
position of Supervisor in March of 2010 and she became Director in September
2015. She is a dedicated leader whose passion is to serve children and
families of Bradford County.
