Geography, Topography, and History The Borough of LeRaysville is located near the eastern central border of the County. It is bound by Pike Township, as it is located centrally within the Township. The Borough has two main streams as well as their tributaries that flow through it, the Ford Street Creek and the Rockwell Creek. A major thoroughfare for the Borough is its Main Street or State Route 467, running north and south through the Borough. The Borough of LeRaysville was formed from Pike Township in 1863. The Borough was named to honor Jacques Donatien Le Ray, considered a French “Father of the American Revolution. In 1887, census records listed the Borough with a population of 324 citizens. Local Government and Current Data The Borough of LeRaysville is governed by an elected mayor and seven elected councilmen. There is also a Borough secretary. The Borough is without a planning commission, comprehensive plan, or zoning ordinances. The Bradford County Office of Planning and Grants handles all subdivisions and land developments. The Borough of LeRaysville has several services and amenities that make up the quaint town. Located within the Borough is the Dille Cooperative Parish. There is also a baseball field that is open to the public from dawn to dusk. There is also the LeRaysville Cheese Factory that produces Amish made cheese from local farmer’s milk.
