About the Airport
The Bradford County Airport Authority was founded in 1986 by five municipalities that surround the airport. All the municipalities adopted Airport Zoning during a period of 1986 through 1991 and further amendments by some Townships. The board was increased in size over the years, in 2001, the Bradford County Commissioners reformed the Authority, and the size of the board was set at five members from throughout the County. The County employees two people, Carl W. Lafy, Manager and Heather M. Blokzyl, Secretary to oversee the operation of the airport. The Bradford County Airport Authority is the owner of the airport and meets monthly at the airport office at 7PM on the 3rd Wed. of each month. The board is charged with the development of the airport.

The services of the airport include Hanger Rent, Tie-downs, AV Gas 100LL, Jet-A Fuel Self Serve, 24 hours a day, Flight Instruction, Courtesy Car.
Airport Manager
 Carl Lafy:
Carl Lafy was born in April of 1941. He joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and served for 20 years before his retirement as a Master Sergeant. Carl served in numerous bases throughout the world including Okinawa, Saigon, and Panama Canal. He served with the air rescue for the 1980 Olympics held in Lake Placid NY, and holds a private pilot license and engine mechanic license. He has been a North Towanda Township Manager, Road Master, Building Code Enforcement Officer and Zoning Officer. In 1986 Carl became the Secretary/Treasurer of the Towanda Area Joint Municipal Airport Authority and later was appointed as Manager of the Airport. In 2001, the Towanda Area Joint Municipal Airport Authority became the Bradford County Airport Authority. Carl became an Bradford County employee, and continues to serve as Airport Manager today. Carl played a large role in the formation of the Northern Tier Aviation Flight School and Maintenance Shop. He has received numerous awards from the Bureau of Aviation, and continues to have referrals from a number of Pennsylvania airports for advice on airport management and operations. Carl has continued to attend professional and educational schools to better serve his position and community. He has served as chairman of the Towanda Creek Watershed, Chairman of the Towanda Area Pilots Association and is a member of the Towanda Radio Control Planes Club.
