About the Airport
The Bradford County Airport Authority was founded in 1986 by five municipalities that surround the airport. All the municipalities adopted Airport Zoning during a period of 1986 through 1991 and further amendments by some Townships. The board was increased in size over the years, in 2001, the Bradford County Commissioners reformed the Authority, and the size of the board was set at five members from throughout the County. The County employee Heather M. Blokzyl, Manager to oversee the operation of the airport. The Bradford County Airport Authority is the owner of the airport and meets monthly at the airport office at 7PM on the 3rd Wed. of each month. The board is charged with the development of the airport.
The services of the airport include Hanger Rent, Tie-downs, AV Gas 100LL, Jet-A Fuel Self Serve, 24 hours a day, Flight Instruction, Courtesy Car.
Heather Blokzyl is the Manager for the Bradford County Airport. As a child, she was exposed to aviation daily, her family operated a farm and restaurant right next to the Airport. In 2002 she was hired as the full time Airport Secretary. While working full time, she attended college part time. After completing an associate’s degree in both Business Management and Accounting in 2006 she went back to college for aviation. In 2008, Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from the Everglades University. Heather now manages the daily operations at the Airport as well as working hand and hand with the Bradford County Airport Authority Board on future development of the Airport. In her spare time, she is a member of the Towanda Area Pilots Association, the Towanda Riverfest Committee and enjoys flying as much as possible. Heather still resides next to the Airport, with her husband Adam, daughter Molly, and dog Pilot.
