About the Department
The Child Care Information System of Bradford/Sullivan Counties manages the subsidized day care service in Bradford and Sullivan counties. The CCIS determines eligibility, manages subsidized funds, authorizes services, manages a waiting list and pays providers for services. Center care, group care and home day care are available. There are sliding fee scales and private pay fee schedules. Some sites have after school and summer programs for school age children.
The Child Care Information Services (CCIS)
The Child Care Information Services (CCIS) administers the subsidized childcare program, providing essential coordination of services throughout Bradford and Sullivan County. The CCIS determines eligibility and authorizes services for publicly subsidized childcare, performs resource and referral services, manages a waiting list of eligible families for whom insufficient funds or lack of openings precludes immediate placement, executes provider agreements and manages provider payments. Eligibility for subsidized childcare services is determined by need and financial determinations.
Bradford County Day Care Program
Bradford County Day Care Program operates five (5) childcare centers located throughout the county. Childcare centers are located in Sayre, Athens School-age, Towanda and Towanda School-age. Services are available for children whose ages range from 6 weeks to 13 years. Centers operate Monday through Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. The program provides a developmental service in a warm and nurturing environment that stimulates the social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth of the children. Highly trained staff members guide the children through developmentally appropriate activities which promote intellectual and creative growth, enhance motor development and contribute to the acquisition of social skills which are the foundation of the curriculum. The program is available Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The service goal is to provide a safe, quality service for working parents that offers care that meets the social, emotional and cognitive needs of the children.
