Please note: to be eligible to vote in the primary, you must either be a registered Democrat or Republican.
Third party voters may vote on any referendums that may be on the Primary Ballot.

The Election Bureau Office has two functions: voter registration & the conduction of two elections every year.

Duties:

We are responsible for the administration of the election laws and the voter registration system.

This office handles all new registration for those 18 years of age and older and maintenance on all current registration. Examples of maintenance may be: name change, address change, party change, and election history update.

We accept petitions for ballot placement;

Receive candidates campaign expense reports;

Prepare and proof ballot layout;

Is responsible for the official canvass of votes after each election;

Certifying election results to the State Election Bureau and locally after each election;

Accept absentee applications and mail absentee ballots;

Maintain election and voter registration history;

Oversee 61 polling places and local election boards.
