About the Facility
The correctional facility west Burlington was built in the 1980’s. It was first occupied in 1991 and featured a variety of new conveniences and security measures not available in the previous facility.
The former jail was deeded to the Bradford County Historical Society in 1998 and is now used as a museum and research library. The jail in West Burlington is still in use today and is known as the Bradford County Correctional Facility.
Bradford County Correctional Facility offers numerous programs to inmates including
Bible Study, Family Group Decision making, Alcoholic Anonymous, Drug & Alcohol program, Anger Management, GED Program, ARCC Group Counsel and Parenting Classes.
Don was born and raised in Bradford County and is a graduate of Northeast Bradford High School. He is a veteran of United States Marine Corps. From 1983-1987 he served as a Presidential Guard in Washington D.C. and Camp David, Maryland. Don worked for the Maryland Department of Corrections from 1988 until 2005. He started as a Correctional Officer and was promoted through the ranks and retired as a major. Don served as the Susquehanna County Prison Warden from 2006 until 2008. During this period the facility earned the first ever 100% compliance from the State Department of Corrections.
